At SAES, our faculty and staff are all Montessori certified and combined have over one hundred years of experience working with young children in Montessori school settings.

Toddler I

Michelle Balch – Lead Teacher, Associates Degree in Child Development and Family Studies with AMS Infant/Toddler Montessori Certification North Harris College: 20 years experience working with young children.

Christa Wilson –Teaching Assistant, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, AMS Infant/Toddler Montessori Certification, 11 years of experience in Montessori and early childhood education

Toddler II

Gredel Blanco - Lead Teacher, AMS Infant/Toddler Intern: 4 years experience working in preschool and Montessori settings with young children.

Denise Taylor-Joshua – Teaching Assistant, 32 years working in the Houston I.S.D. schools, 22 years of experience working in a Montessori Magnet School (ages 3 - 9), AMS Montessori Pre Primary Certification 1974.

 

 Early Childhood

Michelle Halvenka - Lead Teacher, Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from North Texas State University, formerly a Special Teacher. Over 7 years of experience in early childhood. She will be pursuing her Montessori Early Childhood (3-6) Training and Certification at the Houston Montessori Center this summer.

Martha Pena - Teaching Assistant, NAMC 3 - 6 Certification 2004: 6 years experience working in Montessori settings with young children.

Administration

Sarah Corley, Head of School - B.A. Liberal Arts, M.A. Educational Psychology/Special Education, AMS 6-9 & 9-12 Certifications, State of Texas Teaching Certificates, Houston Montessori Center Teacher Trainer: 20 years experience working in Montessori education as a Lead Teacher & Program Director.

Alicia Perez-Guevara, Administrative Assistant – AMS Montessori 3-6 Certification 1997, Director of a Montessori program for 5 years: 16 years experience working within Montessori settings with young children.
