Early Childhood

The Early Childhood community is a 5 day, multi-aged program for children ages 3-6. Montessori education emphasizes a "whole child" approach to learning. Children independently explore activities in sensory development, practical life skills, language, math, science, art, and cultural studies. Teachers guide students and develop individualized lessons. Older children reinforce lessons by teaching younger students skills. All children experience the opportunity to lead and follow.

The EC class encourages and atmosphere of community. All children help maintain the classroom and the materials, as well as the garden. Teachers lead daily group lessons, songs, and games that are engaging and nurture cooperation.
